36th ITPA Diagnostics Topical Group Meeting

The Australian National University, 8-11 April 2019

The ITPA Diagnostics Topical Group meets biennially to coordinate ITER-relevant diagnostics research activities. This has resulted in a broad physics basis essential for the ITER design and necessary for progress toward fusion energy. The scope and activities of the ITPA Diagnostics Group are described more fully on the ITER website.

In addition to the various ITER diagnostic and national progress reports, this meeting will bring together various disparate fusion-related research interests in Australia, with a focus on advanced signal processing and data management.

The venue for the meeting is the Research School of Physics and Engineering at the Australian National University. The Research School of Physics and Engineering represents the largest university based physics research activity in Australia. This enormous endeavour, encompassing almost all areas of physics from quantum science to string theory, employs almost 200 academics and many more students and technical personnel. There will be opportunities during the workshop to visit some of the interesting facilities hosted by the School and to enjoy the ambience of the ANU campus and to explore the Canberra region.
